...how did THAT happen?
Or rather...WHEN did that happen?
But its definitely here. And to celebrate its arrival...
...here is some soup. And spoiler alert....there is a lot more soup coming.
Probably a weeks worth.
Root vegetables plus cooler temps equals slow cooking, oven roasted, pot simmering goodness in this house. I love this time of year.

We are really not vegetarians here. I swear. Not even a little bit. My sister is. My best friend is. I am not. WE are definitely not. Yet its kinda been a meat free summer here.
Not TOTALLY meat free. We still do enjoy bbq chicken. A lot. Mr. sixtyone45 and I celebrated nine years of our matrimonial contract this week. Sometimes I don't know where the time goes, and other times I don't remember life before 'us'. We were together about a half dozen years before we got married so its really been a long time now. The Big Ten is next year...I am already planning the trip. And sometimes you have to eat them.
It was a beautiful day complete with great food, great friends and great farm markets! I have written before about the beauty of the farmers markets but it really doesn't get old for me. Today was no different. We went to two markets - both equally inspiring, overwhelming and beautiful.

I did not bake the cake in this post.
I picked the blueberries. I supplied the kitchen. I dropped a few hints. I left the house for 24 hours. And voila....a Blueberry Buckle Cake was waiting on my counter when I returned. Magic.
I wish my mom visited more often.

Okay, technically weeeee made cheese but either way, I am still tired. I always want (wanted?) this blog to be interesting to those who choose to spend, what I know are precious rare moments of time, here. And listening to me whine about how tired I am does not seem interesting to anyone. even me. (i may be too tired for capitalization at this point)
